Seattle has never been short of talent.
Behind every collaboration is a room where two people happened to be standing near each other. Those rooms used to happen by accident — a session that ran late, a show where you knew the opener, a friend who brought a friend.
We stopped leaving it to accident. North Connect books the room, fills it with the right mix of people, and makes sure you leave knowing who was in it. It began in the independent music community here and now takes in producers, filmmakers, photographers, designers, engineers, and the people who back their work.
Our mission
To help creative people in Seattle find each other, show up for something worth showing up for, and build the working relationships that outlast any one project.
What we run
Four things- Events
- Free and ticketed, across the city.
- Hosted with local studios and venues. Producer linkups, sessions and showcases — at whatever hour the room is right for.
- Membership
- A free account, and a North ID.
- A card carrying your name, your handle and an eight-character code. It is how you are recognised at the door and in the room.
- Connections
- A private record of who you met.
- Built only from real, in-person exchanges at an event, and visible to nobody but you.
- The spotlight
- One member, written up properly.
- On the homepage. Chosen by us, written by us, and never bought.
How membership works
- Yours
The card
Sign up and you have a North ID: a name, a handle, a code. Nothing to fill in for hours, and nothing to be ranked on.
- In the room
The exchange
Someone scans your code, or types it in. You both agree. Nobody is added to anything without meeting.
- After
The list
They are in your connections and you are in theirs. The code stops working an hour after the event ends.
What we don't run
DeliberateNo feed, no member directory, and no way to search the membership. You meet people in rooms or you do not meet them here at all.
